Lindsay M. Neal

Curator of Collections | The Hermitage Museum & Gardens

Lindsay M. Neal is the Curator of Collections at The Hermitage Museum & Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia, where she oversees more than 5,000 fine, decorative, and historical artifacts. With nearly a decade of experience in museum collections management, exhibition curation, and public interpretation, she brings both scholarly depth and a passion for accessible education to her work.

Lindsay holds a Master’s degree in Art History from the University of Cincinnati, where she specialized in Japanese art and historic preservation. Her academic research includes a focus on modern Japanese ceramics and sacred architecture in India. She has delivered lectures for institutions such as the Chrysler Museum of Art, the Norfolk Historical Society, and Old Dominion University’s Confucius Institute.

Known for her engaging presentation style and deep knowledge of Asian art traditions, Lindsay offers audiences meaningful insight into the spiritual and cultural contexts that shape the objects we preserve and collect.
