Roger Rice

Roger Rice holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Southern Maine and an associate’s degree in studio arts from the University of Maine at Augusta, and he earned a certificate from the Center for Creative Imagery in Camden, Maine.

A professional artist, Roger has exhibited at galleries including Horowitz-Newman in Scottsdale, Arizona, O.K. Harris in New York City, and Maine’s O’Farrell Gallery, and at Between the Muse and other venues throughout New England. He was selected as one of six artists for the “Emerging Artists of Maine” exhibition, and his work is held in university and college collections.

Expertise and background

Roger has special knowledge of art restoration, the Bauhaus, and mid-century modern design. Born and raised in Murnau and Nuremberg, Germany, and living most of his adult life in coastal Maine, he brings a broad perspective to every piece. “Art is the stored honey of the human soul,” a line from Theodore Dreiser, sums up his approach.
