Additional Description: Collection of vintage international paper currency representing Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the United States. The group includes an Austro-Hungarian Kronen note, historical South Korean, South Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Turkish, and Spanish banknotes. American currency includes Confederate States of America and Louisiana currency, and military certificates. The American portion includes Confederate States of America and State of Louisiana banknotes in denominations including $5, $20, $50, $100, and $500.
The European portion includes a 1000 Kronen note of the Oesterreichisch-ungarische Bank, featuring ornate multicolor borders, elaborate guilloche patterns, portrait imagery, imperial heraldic elements, and multilingual inscriptions. Also included are two Spanish 1 Peseta notes issued by the Banco de España, featuring imagery associated with Álvaro de Bazán, 1st Marquis of Santa Cruz. The South Korean currency includes a 100 Hwan note featuring Syngman Rhee, a 10 Hwan note featuring Sungnyemun, or South Gate of Seoul, and a 100 Won note featuring King Sejong the Great. The South Vietnamese examples include 20 Đồng and 100 Đồng notes issued by the National Bank of Vietnam, featuring Vietnamese historical and architectural imagery. The Taiwan portion includes a 10 Yuan note issued by the Bank of Taiwan, featuring Dr. Sun Yat-sen and architectural imagery. The Turkish example is a 2½ Turkish Lira note featuring a prominent historical portrait. These are just featured bills, more are included. Bank notes are not authenticated and could be reproductions or reprints.
