Condition: Some cracks and damage from age. 

Additional Information: African Tribal Mask, believed to be from Central Africa, Mali, and the Senufo tribe. It has distinct facial features including a prominent nose and closed eyes. It is carved from wood with shell and beads for decoration. Those who wore it were called a “fire spitter” and danced to ward off malevolent spirits that might cause fire. They danced with live coals in the mouth area and when danced will cause sparks to be strewn as if “fighting fire with fire.”
