Additional Description: This group includes U.S. dimes dated 1944 and 1945, both from the Mercury dime series, officially known as the Winged Liberty Head. Designed by Adolph A. Weinman, the obverse depicts Liberty in a winged cap, while the reverse features a fasces and olive branch, representing strength and peace. Struck during the final years of World War II, these issues reflect the stability of American coinage during a period of global conflict. The 1945 dime also marks the final year of the series before the transition to the Roosevelt design in 1946.
