Additional Information: A silver tablespoon in the Old English pattern. Featuring a plain oval bowl, slender tapering stem, and rounded terminal, typical of late 18th-century Georgian table silver. The reverse of the handle bears London hallmarks, including the lion passant for sterling silver, crowned leopard’s head for London, monarch’s duty mark, and lowercase date letter “a” for the 1796/97 assay year. The maker’s mark is rubbed and appears to read IB/JB or similar, possibly for John Blake, John Boyer, or another London maker active in the George III period.
