Dimensions: Approx 26x3"
Condition: Patina, Oxidation, Blade Scuffs, Cleaning/Sharpening Marks. Scabbard has Leather Loss and Darkening with Scratches.
Additional Information: A strong late 19th century Short Sword marked WERNDL. Features a large single edge blade, steel cross guard with ball finials, wood grip with rivets, and original scabbard with leather body and metal fittings. Ricasso is marked “WERNDL” with “GF” maker mark, possibly for Gustav Felix. The blade also bears a small eagle-style inspection acceptance stamp. Guard area has scratched markings appearing to read “22. D.A.R.” over “1876.” These are likely unit/rack/issue markings.
