Additional Information: This United States Civil War Heavy Cavalry Saber (Old Wristbreaker) with metal scabbard, unmarked and may have been imported from Germany. The saber features a wooden grip with its original wrap removed, complemented by a highly decorative brass hand guard displaying attractive period craftsmanship. The accompanying metal scabbard retains its suspension loops and exhibits the robust construction typical of cavalry service weapons. An intriguing example of a Civil War-era saber, offering historical appeal to collectors of military antiques and edged weapons.
