Additional Information: A beautiful, authentic original watercolor painting by the listed Southern fine artist and watercolorist, Peter P. Briant. This striking horizontal landscape piece captures the unique "sparkplug" style architecture of the historic Spring Point Ledge Light, located in South Portland, Maine, situated at the end of its iconic rocky breakwater.
Briant, a New Orleans native who studied architecture at Tulane University, masterfully utilizes his background in drafting to present incredibly crisp structural detail. The precise angles of the brick and iron tower contrast beautifully against an atmospheric, moody New England coastline. The artist expertly captures the raw texture of the stone breakwater cutting through continuous, smooth watercolor washes of stormy sea greens and overcast gray skies.
This is a hand painted original displaying the complex, fluid color transitions and fine brushwork characteristic of a true master watercolorist.
Excellent vintage condition. The original watercolor pigments are wonderfully preserved and remain completely vibrant with no fading, yellowing, or moisture damage. The custom gallery-grade frame is clean, structurally sound, and ready to hang immediately upon arrival.
