Additional Information: Vintage mid-20th-century black-and-white military group photograph depicting a large formation of uniformed servicemen posed in front of a military aircraft or hangar bearing a U.S. military star insignia. The reverse bears handwritten signatures appearing to include R. Doolittle, William C. Baker, Bernie Langsam, Pat Maguire, Sam Bernstein, Dave Lenco, J.W. Smallwood, and C.P. Porcaro. The inscriptions provide identifying information associated with the individuals pictured or connected to the photograph.

James Harold “Jimmy” Doolittle (1896–1993) was an American aviation pioneer, military officer, and Medal of Honor recipient. He planned and led the Doolittle Raid of April 18, 1942, in which 16 U.S. Army B-25 Mitchell bombers launched from USS Hornet to conduct the first American air raid against the Japanese mainland during World War II, following the attack on Pearl Harbor. Doolittle received the Medal of Honor for his leadership of the mission.
