Period: 1992
Artist: Michael Magyar, Glass Studio on Cape Cod
Medium: Hand blown clear studio art glass with crackled/textured glass and metallic gold leaf decoration
Dimensions: Approx. 5 x 3 in.

Additional Information: Signed and dated 1992 studio art glass vase by Michael Magyar of the Glass Studio on Cape Cod, East Sandwich, Massachusetts. The tall cylindrical vessel is formed in substantial clear hand blown glass with an intentionally textured and crackled lower section and a large sweeping gold toned metallic leaf panel incorporated into the design. The metallic area displays a fine reticulated, web like surface that contrasts with the heavy transparent glass body. The vase is accompanied by a Glass Studio on Cape Cod card identifying Michael and Keiko Magyar. Dating to 1992, the founding year of the Glass Studio on Cape Cod, this is an early example of Michael Magyar’s Cape Cod studio production.
