Additional Description: The 1904 Silver Morgan Dollar from the New Orleans Mint holds special significance as one of the final issues struck before the Morgan series was suspended. George T. Morgan’s classic design depicts Liberty in profile, her hair crowned with wheat and cotton, symbolizing the unity of agriculture and industry. The reverse features the American eagle with wings outstretched, clutching arrows and an olive branch; emblems of strength balanced by peace. The O mintmark beneath the wreath identifies its New Orleans origin, a mint that played a central role in producing Morgan Dollars throughout the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Composed of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper, the coin blends intrinsic value with refined craftsmanship. As the last Morgan Dollar issued by the New Orleans Mint, the 1904 O carries both historical and sentimental appeal. Well-preserved examples exhibit attractive luster and crisp detail, offering a tangible link to the artistry and closing years of America’s great silver dollar tradition.
