About this lot

Dimensions: The longest measures 1.5×1.5×25 in. 

Condition: All have light wear.

Additional Information: Includes a staff that is made of carved dark wood with a nude figure on its top. The figures arms bunch in toward its chest. Also includes a smaller dark carved wood figural staff with a pointed end and a seated figure with an elongated nose at the top. These staffs are believed to be made by Tsonga people of South Africa. 

Lastly includes a carved wood and breaded leather whip. The whip is made of carved wood and has a royal’s head at the top with a spotted and striped headdress on the top with inlayed green and red stone. Along the edge it is has braided leather and a wider portion on the bottom. The whip may have been used for riding and potentially represents a pharaoh or Egyptian leader. 

The staffs may have been believed to hold spiritual powers or represent ancestors or would be used in ritual ceremonies.
