Condition: The top weave is flaring out.

Additional Information:  A Zulu people hand woven ilala palm and grass imbeng hat in a conical shape with detailed, octagonal patterns in two of the bands that wrap around. Weaving techniques have been passed down from generation to generation. Imbeng hats were also used as food covers as well as being worn as decorative or for ceremonies, and the hat is believed to be from the Ethiopian Coptic Christian culture.
