Dimensions: 14.5×19.5 in.

Condition: No visible flaws other than some strings around the edges.

Additional Information: Five Kuba textiles made out of raffia cloth with elaborate and complex designs and geometric diamond and X patterns.  The pieces are rectangular using woven palm leaf fiber with shapes created with linear embroidery and other stitching which are cut to create pile surfaces resembling velvet. Traditionally the men weave the raffia cloth while the women transform them into designed velvet tribute cloth textiles.  

All of the five textiles are created with a diamond pattern in different variations and colors, using tans and blacks mainly.  One of the cloths says VERS DIELI MAVOIX JECRIE, and another one has a young man in the center. 

Provenance: Reportedly from the collection of ethnographer Sam Belu, NY.
