Additional Description: A Whitman folder containing Walking Liberty Half Dollars from 1937 to 1947 preserves the final decade of one of America’s most celebrated coin designs. Created by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman in 1916, the series is admired for its powerful imagery: Liberty striding toward the dawn, draped in the flag, with branches of laurel and oak in hand. The reverse, featuring a poised eagle on a rocky perch, reinforces the coin’s themes of strength and renewal.
