Additional Description: A Whitman folder containing Walking Liberty Half Dollars from 1916 to 1936 preserves the earliest and often most elusive years of a series widely regarded as a masterpiece of American coinage. Designed by Adolph A. Weinman and introduced in the final years of World War I, the Walking Liberty Half Dollar brought a new level of sculptural elegance to U.S. currency. Liberty strides toward the rising sun on the obverse, wrapped in the flag, while the reverse features a vigilant eagle perched on a crag, wings partly raised—an emblem of watchfulness in uncertain times.
