Additional Description:  The 1922, 1923, and 1925 Peace Dollars belong to the early core of the series, each struck during a period of high mintage and economic adjustment following World War I. After the high-relief debut in 1921, the design by Anthony de Francisci was lowered in relief starting in 1922 to allow for more efficient production. The 1922 and 1923 issues, minted in vast numbers at Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco, are among the most common in the series, though variations in strike and luster—particularly from the San Francisco Mint—add layers of interest for collectors. These coins, despite their abundance, carry symbolic weight: Liberty’s calm gaze and the eagle at rest with an olive branch evoke a nation’s hope for stability after global upheaval. By 1925, the pace of silver dollar production began to ease, though mintages remained substantial. The 1925 issue, struck at Philadelphia and San Francisco, reflects a slight shift in tone.
