This specific composition has been independently matched to the Hugh Bell photographic archive, which identifies the image as Gene Krupa, 1954.

Also present on the reverse is a large handwritten blue-ink “Gene Krupa” inscription. The handwriting shows meaningful similarities to authenticated Gene Krupa signatures, but it has not been separately verified as Krupa’s autograph and is therefore described as a period inscription/possible autograph.
An especially desirable jazz photograph combining a major subject, confirmed Hugh Bell image, original photographer markings, and a potentially significant autograph.
