Additional Description: This lot features an antique oak church offering collection box stand, also known as an alms box or poor box stand. Crafted for ecclesiastical use, the stand features a deeply recessed turned wooden bowl at the top where offerings are deposited. An automatic hinged cover closes over the opening after each donation is placed inside, directing the contents through an internal chute into a removable wooden collection drawer labeled with a four. The upper cabinet door provides access to the locked offering drawer, while the lower enclosed cabinet offers additional storage for church supplies. The collection drawer can be removed for emptying, though no key is included with the piece.
