Additional Information: Hand-colored engraving titled Flowers in a Vase, recreation after the original late seventeenth-century composition by French botanical artist Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer, with the engraving published by Nicolas de Poilly in Paris between 1670 and 1680. The artwork depicts an abundant floral arrangement of tulips, chrysanthemums, and other blossoms displayed in a classical sculpted urn, exemplifying the elegant Baroque floral still-life compositions favored in the French royal court. Delicate engraving lines combined with hand-applied color create depth and detail throughout the bouquet, while dramatic lighting and rich contrasts emphasize the sculptural quality of the arrangement. The print is presented beneath glass with an oval viewing that highlights the central vignette, surrounded by a warm-toned mat and housed in an amber-toned burl wood frame with an inner gold toned gilt border, complementing the period-inspired presentation.
