Additional Information: This vintage Gillette gold-plated safety razor travel set dates to the 1910s–1920s and is housed in its original fitted pocket case with velvet and satin-lined interior. The Milady Décolleté set includes a three-piece Old Type open-comb safety razor with a finely knurled handle, a matching gold-toned blade case, and the original compact storage case designed for travel. The razor features Gillette’s classic three-piece construction consisting of a curved top cap, open-comb guard, and threaded handle. The open-comb design was intended to efficiently guide heavier facial hair to the blade while allowing shaving lather to pass through, while the diamond-knurled handle provided a secure grip during use. The ball-end handle and gold-plated brass construction are hallmarks of Gillette’s early luxury grooming sets. The fitted travel case is finished with a red velvet and satin-lined interior with molded compartments that securely hold each component in place. Included is the matching gold-toned blade case, originally intended to store paper-wrapped double-edge razor blades. Includes original blade papers and one blade. Includes Gillette trademark stamps on the case and the razor.
