The book includes the key dates: 1917 Variety 1, 1917 S Variety 1, 1917 D Variety 1, 1927 S. Designed by Hermon A. MacNeil, the obverse features Liberty standing confidently between two pillars, shield raised in one hand, olive branch in the other, an image of vigilance and peace in balance. The reverse shows a soaring eagle in flight, surrounded by stars, emphasizing the nation’s ideals of freedom and strength.
