Condition: Some wooden and glass beads are missing from wear from time. It has some scuffs and signs of ritual use

Additional Information: A carved wooden African Kuna Bwoom helmet mask with wear and signs of ritual use. The mask has holes, and line engravings, as well as bead, string, shell, molded metal, and carved wood attachments and embellishments. Comes on a wooden and metal stand. 

One of three masks danced to show Kuba origin mythology and beliefs. This mask represents Kuna Bwoom, demonstrated with the encephalitic or enlarged cranium. These masks would have been danced in full costume and before the Kuba king and his court. Provenance: Reportedly from Artemis Gallery, CO.
