Condition: Wear and scuffs throughout the wood especially around the figures hands and body and the back has cracking

Description: A Temple Carving of Vishnu from India. The deity believed to be of Vishnu stands facing the viewer with one arm down and one arm may have come unattached or broken off. The deity wears jewelry and an elaborately carved outfit. Protective cobras, known as Naga’s, line the top of the carved piece opening their bodies around Vishnu’s head. It rests on a black stand screwed into the bottom. Carvings like this may have been used at entrances of temples and to decorate chariots.
