Description: A Tibetan prayer wheel, a device used in Tibetan Buddhism. The wheel has a wooden handle with metal wrapped around the top and bottom, the top has a leather covered wheel with metal, brass, and colorful stone embellishments. There is a leather string with a leather ball attached to the top and the top portions are able to slide off of the top. The wheel can spin along the stick and it is said that spinning the wheel is believed to have the same effect as reciting the prayers aloud. It is used to purify negative karma, accumulate merit, and connect with Buddha. Also includes two bronze and leather Gau Tibetan Buddhist prayer bags. Each has a metal yellow-bronze inside with sculpted embossed designs and figures of Buddha, and they are covered in brown leather with straps. These are portable shrines, and are carried during travel for comfort and spiritual connection.
