Condition: All are in various conditions with paint loss, scratches, and light ware. 

Additional Information: The Hakata doll with the man in the brown hat, green vest, and blue pouch is missing a bird that sits on his knee and the platform in which he sits on. The Hakata doll with green pants and a black hat appears to be missing an item that he holds in his right hand. The Hakata doll wearing a tan robe and a samurai sword has loss around the edges of his robe and on his back there appears to have been a repair made at the base of the doll. Kneeling Hakata doll holding a scroll is missing whatever he is holding in his right hand. Hakata doll sitting on a barrel and holding a red box to his face has had a repair done to his arm.

Hakata dolls date back over 400 years, becoming a significant craft in the Fukuoka region. Often portrays figures from daily life, folklore, or theater. They reflect Japanese life and culture and are often given as gifts or souvenirs. Hakata dolls gained popularity in the United States during and after WWII as service members returning from Japan would bring them home as souvenirs.
