Additional Description: This lot features an antique Tramp Art jewelry or trinket box, a fine example of the handmade folk-art tradition popular during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Constructed using the distinctive notch-carving technique, the box is built from layered wood arranged in geometric patterns characteristic of Tramp Art craftsmanship. The initials “MM” are carved on the front and framed by carved wooden flowers and velvet accents. The interior is fitted with a mirror, velvet lining, and decorative paper with teal accents, while the box rests on brass feet.
