Medium: Printed color image on paper mounted to folding board panels, with patterned textile/brocade borders, paper backing, and brass tone metal corner mounts

Condition: Minor age related edge and surface wear. Folding panels and hinges appear intact, with metal corner mounts present. No significant tears, losses, or staining apparent from the photographs.

Additional Information: Vintage Japanese miniature four panel folding byōbu or tabletop screen depicting horses and attendants within a traditional Japanese stable, surrounded by flowering branches, stylized water, architectural elements, and a gold tone background. The image is styled after work by Motonobu Kano and bears the reproduction Hogen Motonobu honorary mark. The piece is bordered with dark blue patterned brocade and mounted within an accordion fold screen with green paper covered reverse panels and decorative metal corner protectors. A Japanese inscription and red seal appear at the lower left as part of the reproduced composition; artist attribution has not been verified. Comparable examples indicate this type was produced in Japan during the mid 20th century Shōwa period, particularly around the 1960s.
