Additional Information: Original 1965 acrylic floral still life by California artist Danny Garcia (1929–2012), known for his mid-century modern Impressionist and Abstract Expressionist paintings from his Carmel, California studio. The composition features a full bouquet of flowers arranged in a dark vase, with bright yellow, orange, and white blossoms contrasted against deep crimson, burgundy, and black tones. Garcia applied the acrylic paint in thick, heavily textured impasto, with palette-knife-like strokes creating raised surfaces and dimensional highlights throughout the flowers and foliage. The warm cream and tan background provides contrast to the richly colored bouquet and emphasizes the energetic, expressive brushwork characteristic of Garcia’s floral paintings. The painting is signed “GARCIA” in block lettering at the lower right and inscribed “GARCIA 65 ACRYLIC,” identifying the artist, medium, and 1965 date. It is housed in a substantial mid-century wooden frame with an ornate carved inner border finished in distressed white and gold tones.
