The additional smaller yellow, orange and black feathers form contrasting levels of bright and indigenous design especially when the headdress is “danced.” The headdress or “dani maiti” in the Cashinahuan language, translates to “body feather headdress.” These prized ceremonial headdresses are crafted and only danced by the men and their sons, after being initiated.
