Additional Description: The 1834 Classic Head Half Cent belongs to the final years of a denomination already nearing obsolescence in American commerce. Designed by William Kneass, the Classic Head series presents Liberty with softly stylized features framed by curling hair and a headband inscribed with “LIBERTY,” surrounded by thirteen stars. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the 1834 issue reflects a period of relative economic stability, though the half cent—once essential for small transactions—was falling out of practical use.
