Additional Description: The 1908 No Motto Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle occupies a unique place in American numismatic history. As one of the earliest examples of Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ revolutionary design, this coin was struck before the phrase “In God We Trust” was reinstated later that year. Its absence reflects President Theodore Roosevelt’s vision to elevate American coinage through classical artistry and a secular aesthetic.

The obverse presents Liberty in full stride, torch raised high and olive branch in hand, symbolizing enlightenment and peace. The reverse features a majestic eagle in flight, capturing both power and grace. This No Motto variety was produced only briefly, making it a fascinating and desirable piece for collectors who appreciate both its artistic merit and historical context.
