Additional Description:  The 1835 Classic Head Half Cent belongs to the final phase of the Classic Head series, which ran from 1809 to 1836. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this issue reflects a transitional moment in early American copper coinage, both in design and function. The obverse features Liberty with soft neoclassical features and a ribbon in her hair, while the reverse presents a straightforward wreath encircling the denomination. By 1835, half cents were increasingly obsolete in everyday commerce, used more for political symbolism and limited transactions than for practical circulation.
