Additional Description: The 1925 Standing Liberty Quarter reflects a moment of transition in early 20th-century American coinage, both in design and cultural tone. By this point in the series, Liberty is shown fully clothed in chain mail a revision from earlier issues prompted by public discomfort with the original bare-breasted depiction. Designed by Hermon A. MacNeil, the coin balances classical inspiration with modern symbolism: Liberty stands poised between two pillars, shield in hand, while an eagle soars across the reverse. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the 1925 issue is relatively accessible but increasingly difficult to find well struck and unworn, owing to the softness of its relief. As part of a short-lived and artistically ambitious series, it offers insight into the aesthetics, values, and evolving public sentiment of interwar America.
