Additional Description:  A green mint tube of 1987 American Silver Eagles holds 20 one-ounce bullion coins from the second year of the series, which had launched in 1986 as the United States’ official silver bullion program. Struck in .999 fine silver at the Philadelphia Mint, each coin bears Adolph A. Weinman’s revered Walking Liberty design on the obverse, paired with John Mercanti’s heraldic eagle on the reverse symbols chosen to evoke continuity, strength, and national identity. The 1987 issue confirmed the early success of the Silver Eagle program.  Stored in the U.S. Mint’s standard green plastic tube, these coins remain untouched by circulation, preserved as originally issued for bulk distribution, and widely recognized for their silver content, government backing, and iconic design.
