Additional Information: Singer No. 66 treadle sewing machine housed in its original wooden drop-leaf cabinet with a cast-iron treadle base and flywheel.  Finished in the classic black japanned finish with gold Egyptian Sphinx Singer decals, the foot-powered machine represents one of Singer’s most successful domestic sewing models. Included is the original 1924 green instruction manual for the Singer No. 66, along with an assortment of period sewing accessories stored in the cabinet’s side drawers. These include a pincushion, spools of Handy Packet thread, thimbles, a miniature Singer sewing kit, a replacement drive belt, needles and pins, three low-shank specialty attachments consisting of an adjustable hemmer, ruffler, and tucker, as well as a wooden foot-form sock darner. Combining the original machine, cabinet, manual, and sewing accessories, this collection offers an appealing example of early twentieth-century domestic sewing history.
