Additional Information: Three framed Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print reproductions after celebrated artist Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858), each from his renowned series The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō (Hōeidō edition), originally published circa 1833–1834. Printed on traditional-style paper and professionally matted and framed, these decorative reproductions showcase three of the series’ most recognizable scenes.
Included are Nihonbashi: Morning View (Station 1), depicting merchants, fishmongers, and travelers crossing the famous bridge at the beginning of the Tōkaidō highway; Nissaka: Sayo no Nakayama Pass (Station 26), illustrating travelers ascending the steep mountain pass of Sayo-no-Nakayama; and Hamamatsu: Winter Scene (Station 29), portraying figures gathered around a warming fire beneath the celebrated pine tree during a quiet winter landscape.
These prints have not been verified as original Edo-period impressions and should be regarded as later reproductions or post-war decorative editions after Hiroshige’s iconic designs. Regardless of their production date, they are attractive examples of traditional Japanese landscape art and make an appealing display for collectors of Asian decorative arts and ukiyo-e-inspired prints.
