About this lot

Country of Origin: China, Jingdezhen

Style: Traditional Blue and White

Dimensions: Approx. 17 x 10 in.

Condition: No Visible Flaws

Additional Information: Large vintage Chinese blue and white porcelain figure depicting Fu Xing, the Star God of blessings, happiness, family prosperity, and descendants.

Fu Xing is portrayed as a bearded scholar holding an infant, with an additional child attendant positioned near the base. His flowing robes are richly decorated with underglaze cobalt-blue cloud, floral, and auspicious animal motifs. The elaborate sculptural base incorporates waves, mythical sea creatures, and other traditional symbols of good fortune.

The underside has a central firing vent and a faint rectangular impressed factory mark. The mark is partially obscured and cannot be read independently, but this figure matches sculpture from the same series bearing a clear Jingdezhen Municipal Sculpture Porcelain Factory mark.

This figure was likely produced as one member of a coordinated Fu–Lu–Shou, or Sanxing, series. Only the Fu Xing figure is included in this listing.
