Additional Information: Vintage Chinese decorative gemstone bonsai tree arranged in an ornate cloisonné planter. The miniature flowering tree features numerous carved and polished hardstone leaves and blossoms in contrasting green, white, yellow, and orange tones.
The foliage consists of dark green to black-green carved stone leaves, while the blossoms are formed from individually carved and polished semi-precious stones. The prominent orange and amber-colored flowers are consistent with carnelian or agate, while the lighter blossoms appear consistent with quartz, chalcedony, or related pale hardstone.
The branches are constructed around flexible metal armatures wrapped in dark material to simulate natural wood. Small orange and yellow bead elements form the flower centers and stamens. The arrangement is anchored into a rectangular or multi-lobed cloisonné planter with brass or bronze components, decorative enamel-filled cells, floral ornament, and small raised feet.
