About this lot
Country of Origin: China, Chinese Porcelain
Style: Oxblood, Langyao / Sang-De-Boeuf
Dimensions: Approx. 6 x 3 1/2 in.
Condition: No Visible Flaws
Additional Information: Elegant Chinese porcelain bottle vase finished in a rich oxblood (sang-de-boeuf / langyao) monochrome glaze. Appearing to be in the Jingdezhen tradition, most likely dating to the mid-20th century (approximately 1930–1970).The vase features a classic globular body with a long cylindrical neck, a softly fading cream-colored rim, and a recessed glazed base with an unmarked foot ring.
While it closely follows Qing dynasty sang-de-boeuf forms, evidence is insufficient to attribute it to the Qing period itself. Museum examples share the same form and glaze characteristics but generally exhibit rougher foot finishing than this piece. The deep copper-red glaze is highly reflective and displays subtle tonal variation, characteristic of traditional Chinese oxblood glazes developed at Jingdezhen. The interior is glazed in a pale bluish-white, and the underside shows a neatly finished recessed base with no visible reign mark or maker’s mark.
